MUMBAI: Global Trading and Cosmetics major Russette Rossette has signed several agreements with production companies involved with Bollywood film production, Tv software, animation, VFx, AI and related products and services to create a vast network of suppliers for quality content in the Indian market space.

The entity will be investing about Rs 850 crore into these projects in the coming months, said sources familiar with the development.

Officials associated with the brand are in talks with several state governments, including those of Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and South Indian states to produce localised or regional content for web series verticals. Many state governments in India provide subsidies and tax benefits to production houses producing regional or localised content showcasing natural beauty or tourism spots in the region. Even local actors fees are paid by the state government to promote regional talent.

A Russette Rossette spokesperson said it wants to capitalize on regional talent in India and is investing in production houses that promote local or regional projects. Traditional, cultural and local musical talent promotion activities are also part of their portfolio.

It is already in the process of closing a deal with Mumbai-based Shri Radhe Krishna Films, promoted by producer Sanjay Gupta, to produce regional content, music videos, web series, etc. It also agreed to support and collaborate with state governments to launch skilling excellence centres and academies in Mumbai, Lucknow, Bhopal and Panaji.

Another Chennai-based production house, Vrindaavan Films, promoted by director Maneesh F Singh has tied up with Russette Rossette for producing an AI powered Indian version of the Hollywood film Titanic.
