In Mumbai for the BMC polls the Mahayuti, comprising of the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) and the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), is set to contest the polls together, while, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi is grappling with its stance on the including of the MNS in the MVA group. While the Shiv Sena (UBT) wants to fight jointly with the MNS, the Congress remains apprehensive, fearing a loss of north Indian votes due to the aggressive stance of the MNS against North Indians and other non-Marathi speaking people.
The Congress has said it will go solo for the BMC polls as it does not want to tie up with the MNS. It is also not in the mood of sharing prime seats with the UBT-led Shiv Sena.
