PANAJI/NEW DELHI: Politician and controversial businessman Gopal Kanda’s name has once again cropped up in the influencer Sonali Phogat mysterious death case. Kanda is said to own a casino in Goa and has been in and out of several controversies in the past. Sonali Phogat shot to fame after her appearance in the Tv reality show Bigg Boss.
According to a report in ETvbharat.com, Gopal Kanda is allegedly involved in the matter and both Sonali Phogat’s manager Sudhir Sangwan and his friend Sukhwinder know Kanda very well for several years.
Her family has alleged that Sukhwinder had earlier worked for Kanda and the duo know him very well. Family members have alleged, as per the ETvbharat.com report, that Kanda is helping them and that’s the reason the Goa police are not arresting them – the two witnesses who were in the presence and company of the deceased actor in the last hours when she was alive.
Phogat’s brother has demanded the arrest of Sangwan and Sukhwinder, accusing them of allegedly raping and murdering his sister after drugging her.
In the latest development, Phogat’s family has directly accused Kanda of meddling in the investigation and influencing the Goa police so that the matter is closed as a case of “heart attack”. They have refused to take the body unless the case is handed over to the CBI or the autopsy is conducted at the AIIMS in Delhi.
