Dharmendra death: No state honours for veteran actor despite legacy of over 60 years

Veteran actor Dharmendra died on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the age of 89, due to age-related ailments. Following his last rites, it has been revealed that there were no state honours for the late actor despite his legacy of over six decades                                                                                          Veteran actor Dharmendra died due to age-related ailments on Monday, November 24, 2025, in Mumbai. Amid growing uncertainty around his health and well-being. For the unversed, the actor was admitted to the hospital earlier this month after complaining of breathlessness. Since then, he has been in a critical condition. After being discharged from the hospital, he continued to receive medical treatment at home. He breathed his last earlier on Monday and was laid to rest at the Pawan Hans crematorium in the presence of close friends and family. No state honours for Dharmendra


According to a recent development, Dharmendra will not be receiving state honours. This is partly surprising given his contributions to Indian cinema. He has been active in the cinema since 1960, when he made his debut. He was active till his last breath with his upcoming and last movie scheduled to release in December 2025. Over his career that spans over 6 decades, he has acted in more than 300 films
