LUCKNOW: Lucknow is set to witness a major new addition to its fashion and entertainment calendar with the launch of GFBT.live Mrs UP Universe, an international fashion and talent pageant that is expected to bring together aspiring models, fashion designers, celebrities and talent from across India.
The main event is scheduled to be held in Lucknow in mid-October, bringing the spotlight to a city renowned for its rich and varied heritage, refined culture and long association with the Nawabi era. The city’s distinctive combination of traditional elegance and contemporary cultural activity is expected to provide an appropriate setting for an event centred on fashion, beauty and talent.
According to the organisers, preparations for the pageant are already underway, with more than 200 aspirants from different parts of India being screened and auditioned for participation. The selection process is expected to identify finalists who will compete in the various stages of the pageant and ultimately seek the coveted Mrs UP Universe title.
The event is also expected to have a strong Bollywood presence, with Bollywood celebrities scheduled to attend the main programme. Their participation is likely to add an entertainment dimension to what is being positioned as a major fashion and talent showcase.
A key attraction will be a dedicated fashion runway event, which will form an integral part of GFBT.live Mrs UP Universe. Around 12 leading Indian fashion designers are expected to showcase their latest creations on the runway. The finalists of the pageant will subsequently have the opportunity to wear and present the designers’ outfits, creating a direct connection between the pageant and India’s fashion-design community.
The concept consequently goes beyond a conventional beauty pageant by combining fashion, modelling, talent and entertainment on a common platform. For participating designers, the runway provides an opportunity to present their creations before an audience associated with fashion and entertainment, while finalists receive exposure through professional fashion presentations.
Lucknow has previously hosted fashion and pageant-related events and has also been connected with contestants progressing from state-level pageants to international competitions.
With auditions continuing across India and the mid-October event approaching, GFBT.live Mrs UP Universe is positioning itself as a platform where fashion, talent and pageantry converge. The combination of national-level participation, designer showcases, celebrity attendance and Lucknow’s distinctive cultural backdrop is expected to make the inaugural event a significant addition to the city’s fashion and entertainment landscape.
