Ranbir truly has the genes of the greatest showman of Indian Cinema – Raj Kapoor

MUMBAI: Ranbir Kapoor has the taste, flair, charisma and style akin to his grand-father – Raj Kapoor who is called ‘the greatest showman of Indian cinema’.

Ranbir Kapoor’s empire is approximately worth over Rs 450 crores.

Ranbir has just bought a 25-acre exotic plot amidst virgin rain-forests at Luthravan, at Mulshi about 120 kilometres from Mumbai. This plot overlooks the Mulshi Lake which is a huge water-body with pristine blue water. Apparently, the deal was done for a whopping Rs. 50 crore. It is rumoured that yester-year actress Poonam Dasgupta was instrumental in getting this deal through.

Poonam’s father, Balram Das was an Art Teacher at Hill Grange High School at Peddar Road, Mumbai. Ranbir’s mother, yesteryear actress Neetu Singh was a student at this school. The land purchased by Ranbir is owned by Naveen Luthra who is Poonam’s husband. Naveen Luthra has a huge land holding in the vicinity of more than 300 acres. When we contacted Poonam and Naveen, both refused to comment, after merely acknowledging that a deal had been done with Ranbir.

Ranbir Kapoor is now all set to wow audiences with his much-awaited film ‘Ramayana’, whose Part 1 will hit cinemas this Diwali. From films like ‘Rockstar’ to ‘Animal’, Ranbir has proved beyond doubt that he’s much more than just a great-looking star.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say he’s shown his talents go far beyond the big screen. As reported Ranbir’s net worth stands at a whopping Rs 350 crores. The ‘Rockstar’ star makes about Rs 30 crore every year. He charges around Rs 50 crore per film, plus a share of the project’s profits.

Ranbir’s income doesn’t just come from acting. In 2013, he co-founded a production company with director Anurag Basu. Their first film was ‘Jagga Jasoos’, with Ranbir and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. Later, he also co-produced ‘Brahmastra: Part One: Shiva’, directed by Ayan Mukerji.

The ‘Barfi!’ actor is also the face of many popular brands in food, fashion etc. His wealth comes from many sources – films, brand deals, property, business investments and his stakes in Mumbai City FC. Slowly, the ‘Sanju’ actor is building his own name as an entrepreneur by launching his own lifestyle brand.

Ranbir also owns some of the most expensive celebrity homes in Mumbai. Leading his list is the Rs 250 crore Krishna Raj Bungalow in Bandra. This six-storey mansion is co-owned by his mother Neetu Singh and wife Alia Bhatt, and is one of the city’s costliest homes.

Ranbir also owns a flat in Trump Towers, Pune, valued at roughly Rs 13 crores. It is currently on lease, bringing him an annual rent of Rs 45 lakhs.

Ranbir’s future looks packed with big films. He’ll be seen in ‘Love & War’, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Then there’s the much-talked-about ‘Ramayana’ by Nitesh Tiwari, where Ranbir will play Lord Ram. Part 1 is coming this Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 during Diwali 2027.
